Brenda Mutai-Hall
As a non-traditional student I had never received an award like the Wentz Non-Traditional Book Scholarship.  Receiving this great honor has given me the confidence and motivation towork harder on my studies here at OSU.

Chase Todd
Receiving the scholarship helped confirm or substantiate that all my hard work growing up toward academic excellence and leadership does "pay off" and gives me a great inspiration to stay focused on my goals.

The Wentz Leadership Scholarship

The Wentz Leadership Scholarships recognize 100 of OSU's best scholar-leaders for their academic work and activities in support of the campus and community. Wentz Scholarships are for two semesters of an academic year (fall and spring). This is a yearly award; no extensions are promised nor will any preferred treatment be given for those wishing to continue their activities into a second year. Only one Wentz Scholarship per year, per student, is allowed.

Leadership at a major university should involve a blend of academic principles that transcend GPA and service activities that are important beyond their function to simply enlarge or enhance a resume. Explain how you are a scholar and a leader at OSU in the truest sense of fulfilling your academic responsibilities and serving others in society.Applicants must also submit a one-page summary of their activities and honors at OSU.
